Domestic Rules & Constitution

  • No bitch in season is permitted on or near the training ground.
  • All dogs must have a current vaccination certificate.
  • Dogs exposed to any infections or contagious diseases are not permitted on training grounds within seven weeks prior to training.
  • Handlers must demonstrate basic obedience and control of dogs.
  • All dogs should be on lead at all times unless under training supervision.
  • No correction/choker collars are permitted whilst training (including all limited slips).
  • Dog droppings to be cleaned up immediately – owners responsibility
  • Positive reinforcement training, using food or toys, is encouraged by the club.
  • Hitting or harsh treatment of dogs will not be tolerated.
  • The minimum age of a child handler is 12 years. Younger children may be assessed by an instructor prior to commencement of any training.
  • Children must be under adult supervision at all times.
  • Dogs under 12 months of age may only participate in ACWA’s Puppy Agility Program which is held under strict instruction and has been tailored to specifically start young dogs in agility.
  • Dogs must be in good physical condition – the Club reserves the right to exclude a dog from training if it is believed to be in the dog’s best interest.
  • ALL Club Members wishing to train are responsible for the setting up and taking down of the equipment. If it is noticed that this is not occurring on a regular basis the offenders will not be allowed to train.
  • Dogs that have demonstrated aggression or a strong tendency toward aggression to people or dogs will be required to be muzzled whilst on the training ground. If the dog in question is still not properly controlled it will be asked to vacate the grounds until such time as it can be demonstrated that it is no longer a danger.
  • Dogs are NOT TO BE TETHERED.
  • No smoking in class, clubroom or immediate vicinity.
  • Handlers must be financial Members of the Club.
  • Once a handler has attained the title of Agility Dog they may be included on the Instructors’ roster.
  • All training will be cancelled if the temperature exceeds 35 degrees at 5pm.
  • Provision of water is the dog owner’s or handler’s responsibility
  • Members training in the Intermediate and Advanced Classes may be placed on a Course setting roster.
  • Handlers must wear suitable footwear while training.
