Annual Club Awards And Title Recognition
ACWA is pleased to recognise the extensive effort, training and commitment put in by members in the sport of Agility throughout the year. It is a challenging sport and achievements should be acknowledged.
The trialing year (and eligibility period to qualify and accumulate points for the Annual ACWA Trialling Class Top Dog Awards) Begins 1st November of the previous year and concludes 1st of November the current year.
During this period all ACWA financial members (who contribute back to the club) competing in Agility trials in Western Australia are eligible for Title sashes and to be considered for ACWA Top Dog Awards.
Title Sashes
ACWA would like to recognise the achievement of a title and will do this through the presentation of title sashes at the end of the year. Any member who meets the eligibility criteria and received their title certificate during the trialling period can apply for a title sash to be made with their dog’s name on it. A copy of the Dogswest title certificate must be presented as proof of earning the title.
The following titles will be recognised via ACWA title sashes:

ACWA Top Dog Awards
During the trailing year those who meet the eligibility criteria and have competed in the following classes; JD, AD, JDX, ADX, JDM, ADM, JDO and ADO may be eligible for an ACWA top dog award based on the points they have earned throughout the trialing year.
The calculation of points for these classes are as follows:
AD and JD
5 Qualifying Card placements earned during the trialing year will be used. Points will be assigned based on the placement of the dog. 1st place being given the highest points. Only the dog earning the highest points across all heights will be awarded. In the event multiple dogs tie earning the highest points, the club will award multiple Top Dog Awards.
ADX and JDX
6 Qualifying Card placements earned during the trialing year will be used. Points will be assigned based on the placement of the dog. 1st place being given the highest points. Only the dog earning the highest points across all heights will be awarded. In the event multiple dogs tie earning the highest points, the club will award multiple Top Dog Awards.
ADM, JDM, ADO and JDO
As these classes are the highest level and don't have any further titles awarded - the highest number of qualification cards gained across the year in these classes will be awarded. In the event that there are a tied number of qualifying cards gained by two dogs the award will then be based on the highest number of 1st places. If still tied 2nd and 3rd places will then come into play.
Eligibility Criteria
For a member and their dog to be eligible for title sashes and/or any of the ACWA Top Dog Awards they must currently be a financial member and have proof of volunteering to help the club during the trailing year.
Our club is built upon the work of volunteers and we need volunteers in order to continue to function. Those who are Life Members, Instructed or worked on the committee during the trialing period are exempt from this as they already give a lot to the club. Volunteering for the following counts towards the eligibility criteria;
- Stewarding at an ACWA trial
- Attending a club busy bee event (Shed clean out, equipment maintenance etc)
- Assisted with club fundraising events; quiz night, raffles, sausage sizzle etc
- More opportunities will be revealed throughout the year.
